TL;DR
- A OnePlus executive has revealed a white OnePlus 9 Pro.
- It’s believed that this option won’t be mass-produced, likely being a canceled colorway.
- This wouldn’t be the first time OnePlus has shown off a canceled color option.
The OnePlus 9 Pro is currently available in several color options, namely Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black. One option missing here is a simple white colorway, but it turns out the company did actually think about this color scheme.
OnePlus COO Liu Fengshuo posted an image on Weibo, showing a white OnePlus 9 Pro. It looks rather slick, although it’s not quite as vibrant as the canceled gold OnePlus 7T the company showed off in 2019. Check out the white device in the picture below.
MyDrivers reports that the white back doesn’t attract fingerprints either, suggesting it has a matte finish or something similarly grease-resistant. The outlet also claims that this new model won’t be mass-produced either, so don’t count on getting this device via official retail channels.
We’ve asked OnePlus to confirm whether the white OnePlus 9 Pro will ever see the light of day and will update the article accordingly if/when they get back to us. Nevertheless, you can be sure that this probably wasn’t the only abandoned OnePlus 9 Pro colorway. The firm previously noted that it looks at “dozens” of color options before settling on a few for the final product.
